Cancelled Markets
At Forkast, we strive to ensure that every market is clear, fair, and trustworthy. However, in certain situations, a market may need to be canceled to preserve the integrity of the platform and protect users. While rare, cancellations are a necessary safeguard against unforeseen events, errors, or policy violations.
A market may be subject to cancellation if:
- The outcome was incorrectly defined due to ambiguous phrasing, contradictory rules, or factual inaccuracies.
- The event results change after resolution, such as a post-event disqualification.
- The resolution source becomes unavailable or is no longer considered reliable.
- The underlying event does not occur or is postponed indefinitely.
- The market violates Forkast’s platform policies, including those related to prohibited content.
- A technical issue materially impacts trading or resolution (e.g., misconfigured resolver or severe trading bugs)
These decisions are made based on internal review and follow a defined process to ensure consistency.
If a market is canceled, Forkast will make efforts to inform users quickly and transparently. A notice will be posted directly on the market page, outlining the reason for the cancellation. Redemptions may be paused while the case is under review.
The visibility of the market may be adjusted following the notice period, and updates will be communicated through official Forkast channels.
Refunds or compensation, when applicable, are determined at Forkast’s discretion based on the specific circumstances and impact of the cancellation.
